DC Football Warriors move to 8-1 and Look Toward The Playoffs!

It was another fun-filled night last Friday as our DC Football Warriors took the field in style to take on St. Bernard-Elmwood Place.  The stands were filled with fans ready to cheer on our team as well as celebrate our Seniors.  With almost 450 yards of total offense, DC handily beat their opponent 42-8.  Tiray “Tank” Jamison scored 2 TDs, and Sam Dimario, Seth Griswold, Ethan Powell, and Seth Yunker each scored 1 TD, some for the first time ever in their varsity careers!  On defense, both David Moyer and Shawn VanNoy had interceptions, and Seth Yunker again led in tackles.  Only 1 more regular season game remains, which will be played this Friday, 10/27, beginning at 7:00 p.m. against New Miami away at John Mara Field.

DC Team running on field

This season has provided a number of firsts:  school records have been broken, multiple players have been chosen as Player of the Week, the team was chosen as Team of the Week, and one to add is that, at present, Tywon Berry is the highest scorer in the Miami Valley Conference, scoring 24 more points than the next highest scorer.  Great job Tywon!  And … should our DC Football Warriors make it to the PLAYOFFS (which has not been mathematically clinched but is very likely), this will be only the second time in school history that a DC Football team has made it to the playoffs!   WAY TO GO WARRIORS – we are so proud of all of you!!  Stay tuned for more information about the Playoffs!!
