Micro Scholarships for College at http://www.raiseme.com

Raise.me is a social enterprise focused on expanding access to higher education, especially among low income and first generation students. Rather than waiting until the end of high school to earn scholarships, which is often too late to impact a student’s college ambitions or choices, Raise.me enables students to earn scholarships throughout high school, starting as early as 9th grade, for doing all the things that best prepare them to succeed, whether that’s getting good grades, volunteering in the community or joining an extracurricular.

“Raise.me enables students to earn scholarships throughout high school, starting as early as 9th grade…”

Over 320,000 students – representing 1 out of 2 high schools in America – have signed up to earn ‘micro-scholarships’ from a diverse set of over 180 colleges and universities, including Northeastern, Colby, Penn State, Michigan State, Tulane and Rollins College. At Raise.me, we’re focused every day on making sure every student has the opportunity to achieve their college ambitions and go as far as their skills and smarts will take them.
(Note from Mrs. Reynolds – before posting this I tested out myself for my own daughter and met with a college representative whose school utilized this micro scholarship site.  It is a wonderful way to raise funds for college. One caveat however, is that most schools do  not stack this money with merit scholarships which usually exceed the amount you can raise on this site. For example:  You can raise up to $40,000 for the University of Dayton on Raiseme.com.  However, of you quality for University of Dayton’s highest merit scholarship (Trustee’s Merit) you can earn up to $76,000.)
