Greetings from New York! This week during Spring Break, Resounding Joy partnered with Youth With a Mission on Long Island to minister to the folks in New York City. On Tuesday we went to the Bronx and set up prayer stations. We prayed for and with the many folks who walked through the Hub – a busy intersection
of five major streets in that area. On Wednesday we had some training from a married couple who are YWAM missionaries with a heart to reach out to Muslims. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon walking through Central Park and around Manhattan “treasure hunting” or looking for opportunities to seek and talk to God’s treasures – particularly Muslims, but folks whom God loves and wants to see come to know Him. Thursday we went to Lighthouse Mission – a neighborhood outreach ministry in Bellport. We helped sort donations in their additional storage area and then went out with one of their trucks to distribute food to homeless and low income families. We had opportunities to sing for them, talk and pray with them and serve them by helping to meet some needs.
This has been a fantastic week of stretching, teaching, ministering and fellowship. Thank you to all who contributed financially and through prayer to this year’s RJ ministry trip. If you see an RJ member, ask them to tell you about someone they met in New York or something God taught them this week.
