Did you know:
Elephants can swim as many as 20 miles a day — they use their trunks as natural snorkels!
Niagara Falls has enough water to fill up all the swimming pools in the United States in less than three days!
The bikini swimsuit was named after a U.S. nuclear testing site in the South Pacific called Bikini Atoll.
65% of people in the U.S. don’t know how to swim.
Fortunately, knowing how to swim is not a requirement to come out and support your Dayton Christian Warriors in the Metro Buckeye Conference Championship Meet on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 6:30pm. The splash down takes place at Trotwood-Madison High School’s Pool, 4440 North Union Road, Trotwood, Ohio 45426. Wear your purple and gold and bring a loud voice to cheer on your Warriors as they go stroke for stroke against the Ambassadors, Bull Dogs, Eagles, and Rams. Much is on the line and your support will fuel the Warrior Spirit on to Victory!
The conference meet will also serve as our senior recognition night where we will celebrate the leadership, contributions, and successes of Grace Cox, Madison Gebhart, Emily Golich, Kayla Landis, and Morgan Pook.
Today, we spotlight Senior Emily Golich.
Emily is the daughter of Frank and Bonnie Golich. This is Emily’s second year on the team. Emily swims the freestyle and breaststroke for the Warrior swim team. Emily has also participated on both the soccer and track teams while at Dayton Christian. Emily has also participated in J-Term mission trips. Emily’s favorite verse is Philippians 4: 6-7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Emily’s favorite team memory is when Coach Tom and Coach Erich jumped into the pool, fully clothed, on the last day of practice last year! Emily is still researching colleges, narrowing her choices, where she will study either Speech Pathology or Nursing.
Come out and support Emily, the seniors, and the rest of the Warrior swim team, Saturday, February 6, 2016, as we strive to represent ourselves, our school, and our God in a manner which will bring glory and honor to Him.
