Seventeen students visited Miami Middleburg as part of their J-Term College and Career class. The class spent the day yesterday learning about career and education options after high school, the college application process, interviewing for admission, writing college essays, ACT tips and strategies, academic resumes, researching college and financial aid, and most importantly about spiritual disciplines that help with discerning God’s will for their lives.
They will spend the week visiting regional colleges and universities and follow up with a five day tour of universities in Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee. They will complete the week with a better understanding of their giftings and skills and how that translates to possible majors and jobs. They will also have a completed resume and draft of a college entrance essay and lots of experience to help them evaluate options for post secondary education.
