DC Football Warriors Shut Out the Cougars and move to 5-1

During a non-stop chilly rainfall, the DC Football Warriors showed their strength by scoring 42 points with over 450 yards of offense against the Cincinnati Christian Cougars!  Quarterback Sean Van Noy was on fire, completing 21 of 28 passes for 208 yards, rushing for a TD, and connecting with Evin Butler for a TD.  4 other TDs were scored by Andrew Lutey, Ricarie Howard with a 45 yard run, Jaymen McDonald with a 54 yard run, and Evin Butler (TD #2) with a 74 yard run!  To view Evin Butler’s impressive TD run, click onhttp://youtu.be/YxDMYzcGz-Q.

However, what stands out most about this fine group of young men is the comradery, sportsmanship, and team cohesiveness they display week to week.  Many JV players were able to experience Varsity action at this game, and the cheering from the Varsity players and parents as these boys ran onto the field was heart-warming.  No matter what position these boys play or how much play time they see, this special group of players and their coaches value and appreciate each other and celebrate hard work, team focus, and dedication to Godly behavior on and off the field.  It truly IS about more than just winning games.  Way to go Warriors!!!

Coaches Spotlight:  This team would not be a success without the hard work and leadership of its coaches who dedicate countless hours to helping this team grow and learn.  Please meet Coach Kali Jones, our Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach.  Coach Jones is new to the coaching staff this year, and has brought great experience from his years coaching at Wayne HS.  “Passionate, caring, enthusiastic, and funny” are all words Coach Moyer would use to describe Coach Jones.  In addition, please meet Coach Corey Hagerman, who is in his second year with the Warriors.  Coach Moyer describes him as “a dedicated worker who provides great coaching to our QBs and linebackers and will be calling the plays for the JV in addition to being the JV Head Coach.”  The last coach to meet this week is Coach Eric DiMario who is a former football player and graduate of our very own Dayton Christian Schools.  Coach DiMario has been coaching the running backs and linebackers for the DC Warriors for 4 seasons, and is described by Coach Moyer as “faithful, energetic, positive, and great with the kids.”  Of note is the many hours of work these coaches dedicate to this team despite not having a son on the team.  We thank Coach Jones, Coach Hagerman, Coach DiMario, and their families for their sacrifice and commitment to our DC Football Warriors.  J
