Thoughts of a grandfather

It is Saturday morIMG_4161ning and I am visiting my son, his wife and 2 little sons. I have just witnessed my precious 2 year old grandson deliberately “store” his toothbrush behind the couch instead of returning it to the bathroom as instructed by his mother. Kendra, my daughter in law, spent the next 5 minutes investing in her son and holding him accountable to obeying and following his mother’s instruction.  It was both hard and enjoyable to watch her invest the time and effort into building her son’s character. Character comes in minute, consistent installments over large matters and small. My prayer for all us is that we will not grow weary in the very difficult task of raising our precious children whether they are 2, 12 or 22. We grow through each of these little installments.

Have a great week.
