After a 2 hour bus ride with no A/C or the ability to open windows, the DC Football Warriors arrived in Beaver, OH to confront the Eagles. In the first quarter, Darien Anderson kept the Eagles from scoring with a beautiful interception but, shortly thereafter, the game was postponed at 0-0 until Saturday due to persistent lightening. On the way home, bus trouble struck again when the bus broke down, and most of the team did not put their heads to their pillows until the wee hours of the morning. But that did not slow down our team. Saturday afternoon, our Football Warriors traveled back to finish the game, and their performance did not disappoint those who came to support them. The Eagles drove first for a TD making the score 7-0. However, thanks to impressive defensive play, the Eagles never scored again, and the DC Football Warriors brought home yet another win, 20-7. Both Nick Edinger and Tywon Berry recovered fumbles, Ricarie Howard had 3 tackles for loss, and the offense put three TDs on the board, scored by Tywon Berry (2) and Sean Van Noy. On the way home, DC’s proud coaches treated their team to a Popeye’s victory feast, and a long weekend ended in a satisfying celebration. Come support your undefeated DC Football Warriors at our next HOME game this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at West Carrollton Middle School (424 E. Main St., Dayton, OH). GO WARRIORS!!
