Testing, Testing, Testing – PSAT, SAT, and ACT News Update

We know you can’t wait for testing this fall!  Here is the latest in testing news.

PSAT

The PSAT will be conducted on campus this year for all Juniors.  Testing will occur on October 14th in the AM at the school.  Juniors do not need to register or pay for the test.

What is the PSAT and why should I take it?

The PSAT won’t count towards your college admissions applications, but it is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. (Terrified? Learn more about the National Merit Scholarship and put your mind at ease.) This means that some of the highest scoring students may win scholarship money, so while you shouldn’t stress out about the PSAT, you certainly shouldn’t ignore it either. Instead, use the PSAT as both practice for the SAT and ACT and one of the starting points on your college admissions journey.

ACT

The next deadline for registering for the ACT is September 18th to test on October 24th.  Go to http://www.actstudent.og to register and for more information.  ACT information and books are available in the Guidance office.

SAT

The next deadline for registering for the SAT is September 3 for the October 3rd test date.  Please visit http://sat.org to register or for more information. Registration packets and SAT practice booklets are available in the Guidance office.

For any questions regarding testing, please email Mrs. Reynolds at kreynolds@daytonchristian.com.
